So you might be asking yourself, "What is Scentsy?"  Don't worry.  You're not the first one to ask.  Read the brief introduction to Scentsy below to find out more about this amazing brand.

First, let's start off with what Scentsy isn't.  It isn't a traditional scented candle.  No.  It's much more than that.  It's a ceramic candle warmer dish with a 25-watt lightbulb inside it that heats up a candle warmer dish which has scented wax inside of it. HOW DO I USE SCENTSY?

WHAT SIZES DO THE SCENTSY WARMERS COME IN?
Scentsy warmers come in 3 sizes:  Full-Size Scentsy warmers, Mid-size Scentsy warmers, and Scentsy plug ins.  Depending on the area where your warmer will be, you'll want to choose the appopriate size warmer to fit your needs.  Usually, Scentsy plug in warmers are great for smaller spaces like bathrooms and under kitchen cabinets.  A full-size warmer is great for a dining room or office since it can hold quite a bit of Scentsy wax.  The mid size warmers hold the same amount of Scentsy scent but are about 40% smaller than a full size warmer.

I have a lot of customers ask me what the difference is of the Non-ETL Scentsy Plug-ins and the new ETL Plug-ins. So, I thought that I would help answer this question for you. 

Detailed Answer:

What Is ETL?

ETL is a hazard-certification entity similar to UL (Underwriters Laboratories) here in the United States.    Since Scentsy sells products in Canada, products sold there must carry the ETL certification, rather than the UL certification.  A product that is ETL Certified also encompasses standards from UL, as well as 5 other testing entities.

What's The Difference Between ETL and NON-ETL?

NON-ETL means that the Scentsy product is not ETL Listed; Rather, it's Underwriters Laboratores (UL) Listed, a safety certification trusted for more than 100 years (established in 1894.)  UL Listed products will be found all over your house.  Whether it's a TV, a lamp, or a hair-dryer, the majority of the items in your house are UL Listed, and therefore, NON-ETL certified.

An ETL Listed product certification means that the product is tested to ETL Standards.  The ETL Certification incorporates several other testing standards under it as well:  UL (Underwriters Laboratories), ANSI (American National Standards Institute), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), ASTM (American Society For Testing and Materials), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), and NOM (Mexican standards organization 'Norma Oficial Mexicana').   This means that a product that is ETL Certified not only complies with ETL  standards, but with OTHER internationally recognized standards as well.  This allows Scentsy to make products that not only pass certification is US Markets, but in other geographical regions as well.

Which Scentsy Products Are Affected By The ETL Change?

Plug-In Scentsy Warmers are the only Scentsy products affected by the new standards change.  

Are NON-ETL Scentsy Products Safe To Use?

Absolutely.  For US customers, Scentsy's NON-ETL Plug-In warmers are certified to UL standards, a certification entity trusted for more than 100 years.  The UL Listing certification is recognized by more than 90 countries.

UL, as with other testing companies, are recognized by OSHA (the U.S. Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration) as hazard tested.  A list of approved testing labs is maintained by OSHA and both UL and ETL are listed as approved.

If I Live In Canada, Can I Buy NON-ETL?

No.  Scentsy Plug-In warmers that are NON-ETL are hazard tested by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a US-based certification organization, and therefore are not approved for sale in Canada.  You'll notice that when you shop Scentsy from a Canadian Scentsy consultant's website that "non-etl" Scentsy Plug-In warmers are not listed there.

Why Is Scentsy Phasing Out The NON-ETL Plug-In Scentsy Warmers In The USA?

Rather than manufacturing products to a hazard-certification standard specific to each country Scentsy sells in, the ETL standard is an "umbrella" standard that encompasses many other standards as well.  In short, a product that is ETL certified can be sold in many more countries since it also tests to 5 other standards as well.

Yes.  Because Scentsy is selling its final supply of NON-ETL Plug-In warmers, you'll see a 10% discount realized on all NON-ETL Scentsy Plug-Ins.

Short Summary:

The Non ETL Scentsy Plug-Ins are basically our 'older model' of Plug-Ins. We have recently expanded into other countries like Canada, Germany, and the UK. Because of this expansion into Canada, we had to redesign the plug-ins for Canada. They have nationally recognized standards so Scentsy made new plug-ins that are ETL approved and Scentsy Consultants can sell in Canada and here in the US. The  Scentsy Plug-Ins that we have on clearance are known as Non-ETL Plug Ins. Until we sell the remaining inventory of Non ETL Plugins, they are available on my Scentsy Personal Replicated Website.

The Scentsy Scent and Warmer of the Month for January 2012 is absolutely lovable! The Scentsy Valentine Warmer is the Scentsy Warmer of the Month and it is a white warmer with a red and white polka dot ribbon tied around the warmer with a matching red pendant embellishment. Nothing says, 'you're my Valentine' than this sweet warmer. The red heart pendant is made of glass and hangs sweetly as a reminder of one's love. Sell Scentsy Online

Selling Scentsy online is a great way to gather additional orders for your Scentsy business. When you sign-up with Scentsy you get a free PWS (personal website) for the first 90 days along with a helpful Scentsy newsletter service. The newsletter is automatically sent out for you. You just need to enter all of your friends, family, co-workers, clients, etc into your contacts database and Scentsy sends out a beautifully crafted newsletter advertising your business with a link directly to your website. After your first 90 days, I recommed people keep their website subscription so that people can order online and receive that monthly newsletter that educates clients on monthly specials and advertises you as a Scentsy Consultant.

There are several ways to get online orders. You can do an online party where you send invites to everyone you know with a link to that party and have them order whatever they want. We can offer direct shipping to that person. Another way to get online orders is to show off your website on your car, on your business cards, email signatures, flyers, etc. This will help you gain new customers! You can also do online fundraisers that you organize just like a regular party order. What is great about Scentsy is that there are so many ways to sell Scentsy candles. The products are easy to understand, made really well, we have awesome training, and a great positive company culture!

Well, it looks like Scentsy has declared July as the month of celebration.  Introducing two new items from Scentsy for the Scent and Warmer of the Month for July 2011.  First, there is the Happy Birthday Scentsy bar and scent selections which come in bars, room sprays, bricks, and car candle formats.  These scents are sure to remind you of your favorite birthday celebration with their sugary, sweet aroma and the feeling that you've just lifted the lid off of a freshly made birthday cake.   Just when you thought that the celebration was over, Scentsy introduces their new Cupcake Scentsy warmer below.

Scentsy Star Spangled Warmer and Peach a la Mode are the Warmer and Scent of the Month for June.

With Spring comes Scentsy's new Spring/Summer Catalog for 2011! I am so excited to see all of our new Scentsy warmers, scents, and products. 

First of all, let's look at the new full-size warmers that have been rolled out! 

The New English Ivy Scentsy Warmer is a dreamy warmer with the ivy pattern and the different shades of green that remind you of wandering through an english garden.  It sits up on a round pedestal base and has a beautiful glossy finish. I love the design of the holes that surround the warmer to allow the soft glow of light.

This would be great to display year round because of the colors and pattern.  I can picture it in a room with jewel tone colors or in a beautiful bright room with soft ivory, yellows, or beige. 

Farfalle Full-Size Scentsy Warmer has a reactive glaze finish which creates a unique look to each warmer.  This means that each warmer will have a variation in color because of the glaze that is applied reacts differently each time. The Farfalle warmer has a rich brown rust color with hints of deep purple and reds. 

Enjoy this international, hand-crafted look along with the refined bow-tie shaped design. 

This new Casbah Scentsy Warmer is so exciting! I love this one! I have long been a fan of the bombay, international look that references an exotic distant land. 

It has that mosiac tile look that inspires a lush Greek island.  It has complex shades of blue that is enhanced with the reactive glaze finish. The reacitve glaze creates one-of-a-kind hues to each warmer and gives it a glossy finish.

This new playful Fizz Scentsy Warmer is absolutely adorable! This new warmer has a bubble-shaped design with a matte finish.  When you switch the light bulb on it gives the warmer a soft glow. 

I love how the fizz pattern starts from the bottom of the warmer all the way up to the top warmer dish. The matte finish gives this warmer a distinct look. I can see this in rooms ranging from a modern living room to a kids room.

Fossil Fern Scentsy Warmer  has a modern feel with it's earthy design. The fern pops out with an organic brown matte color which contrats nicely with the creamy, glossy finish of the warmer.  The fern leaves have a unique matte and bumpy design that gives it that contemporary look.

This warmer has a modern botanical feel that would be great in any home. The colors are pretty neutral like a pair of khakis. 

The New Hampton Scentsy Warmer has an understated nautical theme for any beach, cottage, or chabby chic design. I love this new warmer so much! I am going to put it in my guest room to give my guests a relaxing, bed and breakfast kind of feel. 

The Hampton warmer has a white glaze that has a distressed look with a terra cotta base.  It is a fun addition to our new Spring/Summer catalog. It will be a nice replacement for my old Surf's Up Scentsy warmer that I am using in my guest room now.  I have been waiting for Scentsy to come out with a new nautical warmer and I got it! Yeah!

Heirloom Scentsy Warmer has a traditional lace design that would look great in any traditional or chabby chic home. It has a crackle glaze and an embossed lace design with an antique wash.

The New Scentsy Charitable Cause Warmer is called Piece by Piece. This is Scentsy's newest charitable cause this season is Autism Speaks. They help fund global research, educate, and provide hope to families whose children have been diagnosed with autism. Scentsy will donate 100% of net proceeds from the sales of Piece by Piece directly to Autism Speaks. 

Because it is a charity warmer and the net proceeds go this important cause, we do not allow it to be purchased using host rewards or in the combine and save packages. It has a reactive glaze that makes it shiny and creates a unique finish on every warmer.

The New addition to our Patriot Collection is the Coast Guard Scentsy Warmer. It pays tribute to our brave military men and women who serve in the United States Coast Guard.

Scentsy's New Spring and Summer Scents are incredible!! We also bought a few back that I am very happy about.

Let's start with the new Spring & Summer Collection. 

Beach is one of the scents that we brought back this season.  We have Beach Scentsy Bar, Beach Scentsy Brick, Beach Scentsy Room Spray, Beach Scentsy Travel Tin, Beach Scent Pak, and Beach Scentsy Scent Circle. Enjoy the smell of beach with its honeydew, papaya, and hint of coconut. 

Berry Blush is another scent that we brought back for the season. I am so happy! Citrus Sun Tea is a perfect scent for this spring and summer! It smells like that sweet southern tea that you drink on a hot day to cool off. It has zesty citrus and lemongrass. This scent comes in the Citrus Sun Tea Scentsy Bar, Citrus Sun Tea Brick, Citrus Sun Tea Room Spray and Citrus Sun Team Scent Circle. 

Faerie Blossom Scent has such a whisical name. It is a lovely new scent with lychee, watermint, lotus, and violets.  It will brighten up any space with its magical scent! It comes in a Scentsy Brick, Faerie Blossom Scent Circle, and Faerie Blossom Room Spray. This scent is aimed to please with its sweet and fruity scent. 

Forever Pink Scentsy Bar is a great scent that has cherry blossoms and freesia with musk and blackberry jam. It is a sweet and fruity scent with a light floral background.  It smells so girly! I love it! It comes in Forever Pink Scentsy Brick, Forever Pink Scent Circle, and Forever Pink Room Spray. 

Groovy Grapefruit Scentsy Bar is incredible! It comes in Groovy Grapefruit Scentsy Brick, Groovy Grapefruit Scentsy Room Spray, and Groovy Grapefruit Scent Circle.  For those of you who miss Graperfruit Blossom that was discontinued, this is your remedy. I love actually mixing one cube of Groovy Grapefruit with one cube of Coconut Lemongrass Scentsy Bar. I I call this one Groovy Grapefruit is Coco for Lemongrass. 

Honey, Do! Scentsy Bar is a great new Spring/Summer scent that is clean and fruity. It has a mix of melon scents with a touch of mint. It is really refreshing for those who don't like a super sweet or floral scent. 

There are some additions also to the Romance Collection for Scentsy. 

Love Story Scentsy Bar is the most romantic scent name that I have heard yet! It has pink jasmine and hints of dark chocolate with sensual amber. Add this to any warmer and you will fall in love! It also comes in a Love Story Scentsy Brick, and Scentsy Room Spray. 

Luna Scentsy Bar is another great scent in the Romance Collection.  Think of staring up at the stars at night with your loved one and gazing at the moon. The Scentsy Warmer of the Month for March 2011 is the Dotty Full Size Warmer.  With Spring brings bunnies, flowers and Easter.  This adorable Spring yellow has white dots all around the warmer. The warmer dish has a whimsical fluted top. Both the top and bottom have a brown color to really give the warmer depth and character. 

I absolutely LOVE this Scentsy warmer! I love the Jumpin' Jelly Bean Scent of the Month for March 2011 that accompanies this delightful warmer. it definitely has that sweet jelly bean smell of apples, pear, lemon and sugar.
